1950. Information about Jeanne Lafaurie is thin on the ground. She sets up her fashion house in 1925, and it becomes known for dependable, if not spectacular, clothing and fine draping. And yet… This ensemble is the inspiration for one of the most iconic images from an iconic shoot. It appears in Vogue UK, October 1950, page 75, captioned:
