1942. Dancer and actress Vera Zorina stars in ballets, films and stage musicals choreographed by her first husband, George Balanchine. Her mix of glamour and culture propel her to success on stage and screen. A caption on the back of the photo reads:
DANCING BEAUTY – – Vera Zorina continues on her merry, graceful way dancing in all her pictures, her latest ballet being in “Star Spangled Rhythm”, Paramount’s new-style musical which has a cast of seventy top stars and featured players in the cast. Miss Zorina does a ballet on a snow set with millions of snow flakes falling about her. For her dance, Johnny Mercer and Harold Arlen wrote a new hit tune, “Black Magic,” which is sung by Johnny Johnston while she ballets.
