Early/mid-1950s. Irene was well known for gowns and suits. They were the two staples of her fashion collections. According to The Fashion Book, Irene’s style was always “slim, curvy and tailored for daywear; eveningwear…was lavish and dramatic with feathers, frills, and sparkle.” She continued to produce her daytime suits right up until her death.
