1929. The lighting and soft focus reference the pictorialist style of the pre-World War I years and show that it was still alive and kicking at the close of the 1920s. Not for much longer though. A stamp on the back of the photo is dated 11 September 1929. A caption reads:
LOUISE BOULANGER evening dress for the fall is fashioned of warp-printed taffetas in shades of green and blue. The side pouf and train are outstanding new points that will be seen this winter.
