In 1952, Corinne Calvet goes to war with Zsa Zsa Gabor, as the snipe attached to the back of this photo explains:
Zat Zsa Zsa’s Being Sued
Actress Corinne Calvet (right), her Gallic ire aroused, filed a $1,000,000 slander suit against Zsa Zsa Gabor (left) in Santa Monica, California, on August 12.
“Zat Hungarian said I am not French,” Miss Calvet protested, referring to an interview the curvaceous Corinne said Miss Gabor gave to a Hollywood columnist. La belle Calvet declares she is prepared to prove that she was born in Paris, France, on April 30, 1925.
The case is thrown out, but Corinne’s origins are found to be genuine.
This appears to have been a publicity stunt rather than an authentic feud. Corinne also tells the press she has a bigger bosom than Zsa Zsa Gabor and is willing to strip to the waist to prove it!
