1946. Ella Raines. A caption on the back of another copy of this photo that appeared on eBay read:
STAR IN SWIMMING POOL MISHAP
The script of Universal’s “The Runaround” called for the fadeout kiss of Rod Cameron and Ella Raines to be shot at the edge of a swimming pool. Rod, who was raised in the wilds of Canada and stands 6 feet, 4 inches high, was a little too much for petite Ella. Both stars fell into the pool, but the shot was so good that Director Charlie Lamont decided to leave it into the finished film. When Ella was pulled out and dried off, she was none the worse for wear, and the still cameraman got his first and only chance to shoot Ella in dishabille.
