1939. There’s something cat-like about Hedy Lamarr’s pose, and her bare shoulders intensify the image’s sensuality. A caption on the back of the photo reads:
THE LOVELINESS OF LAMARR…Is reflected in this new portrait study of Hedy Lamarr enhanced by her marble white complexion accentuated by her dark brown tresses. Miss Lamarr, who made her screen debut in “Algiers,” is soon to be seen in a forthcoming Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production.
Hedy’s next film will be Lady of the Tropics (1939), which will do nothing to enhance her reputation following her stunning debut in Algiers.
