October 1947. A caption on the back of the photo reads:
The restaurant suit is revived by Nob Hill in this new era of elegance. Here it is shown in black Forstmann Jersella in an important three piece combination for cocktails and dining. The ankle length skirt with scalloped hemline forms a perfect frame for a dainty foot, and emphasises the scalloped cut of the jacket. The elegant blouse of heavy white crepe is embroidered with silver and black metallic thread with rhinestones scattered like stars over the surface. The hipline is openly and honestly padded, and actually adds to the long tapered lines of this smart suit. Designed by Vernelle for Nob Hill.
