1947. A contemporary review in the June 30 edition of The New York Times is complimentary about Veronica Lake’s performance in Ramrod:
“Ramrod” … is an outdoor drama in which a beautiful but flinty blond dame is the catalyst for all the standard fireworks from a stampede to a gun duel in the quiet, dusty street of a cow town. … As the designing dame, Veronica Lake makes a fairly convincing predatory baggage, who really cares for the “Ramrod” [her foreman] but is forced to drastic measures in order to retain her property.
