October 1947. A caption on the back of the photo reads:
California loves an outdoor girl and an all-weather outdoor coat. Here Nob Hill presents a warm-as-hot-buttered-rum great coat in beige fleece by Forstmann. The handmade leather buttons lend a wonderful Western touch; the huge turn-back reveres can be buttoned up with a double-breasted effect. The back is flared with dash and dare. Designed by Vernelle for Nob Hill, and is to be featured in San Francisco’s world premiere fashion showing in Paris October 16th.
